Adaptive Mountain Biking series

Fall 2025

Join Empower SCI and Waypoint Adventure for some fall mountain biking fun!

We have a 3-part series this fall for a more integrated mountain biking experience. The first two events will allow participants to be sized to their bike, try some skills, and get to know how the cycle performs on trails. The last event of the series is part of our Knobby Tire Ride and Roll, where participants will get the chance to try their bike out on the trails with support from our Knobby Crew! Summer 2025

Join Empower SCI, @impossibledreamcatamaran , and Deloitte for a summer Pathways experience unlike any other on Boston Harbor!

We will begin at the Deloitte offices in the Boston Seaport for a career building workshop focused on personal brand, storytelling, and how to navigate your career with a disability. This will be followed by dinner at Deloitte. After dinner, we will roll down to the harbor to board the Impossible Dream, a fully wheelchair accessible sailing catamaran for a sunset cruise around Boston Harbor. It will be an informative, motivating, and adventurous evening!

  These programs are open to anyone with a spinal cord injury and are a great way to get a taste of the Empower SCI magic. 

**Cost of most Pathways Programs is $25 per person to cover administrative fees associated with programming, but please apply if you are interested as scholarships are available.

Empower Pathways : Spring Series

February through May 2025

The Spring Series is made up of several day events throughout the Northeast including a “Family Dinner” cooking experience, an opportunity to try adaptive sports, a day of art at the Museum of Fine Arts (followed by a trip through Boston to a brewery), an adaptive ski day, and an urban adventure in Manhattan.

  These programs are open to anyone with a spinal cord injury and are a great way to get a taste of the Empower SCI magic.

Alumni weekend: Reunite and ignite

We had a fantastic weekend with our Empower SCI Summer Program Alumni, focusing on “claiming your path” and finding the power to choose your own future.  We gathered in Providence, RI for a weekend of Connection, Collaboration, and Continued Conversations. Interactive and dynamic sessions focused on a continuation of conversations from our Empower SCI Summer Programs, including Relationship Dynamics, Identity Reconstruction, and Passion, Purpose, and Pathways: a Conversation about Career, Craft, and How We Find Meaning.
