Offered through our social-connection Empower Hour (open to anyone),

and our monthly Rehabilitation Counseling with Dr. Gaby (past Empower participants only)

Empower Hour is a series of virtual gatherings held throughout the year on Zoom that bring our community together to connect, learn, and share. These sessions include a mix of educational talks and relaxed social events, creating space for meaningful conversation, peer connection, and continued learning from anywhere.

Empower Hour

Dr. Gaby’s Rehab Counseling Monthly Meeting brings the heart of our Summer Intensive Programs into a virtual, year-round space. Often described as the “magic sauce” of our Summer Intensives, these sessions offer meaningful guidance, honest conversation, and emotional support around the lived experience of spinal cord injury.

Led by Dr. Gaby, the group meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM EST. Once you register, you are welcome to join all future meetings without needing to register again.

Rehab Counseling Group

The mission of this group is to empower the voices of caregivers and provide a space in which to learn, listen, and share experiences

Led by Liz Lima Remillard, the group meets on Wednesday evenings in February/March 2026. Once you register, you are welcome to join all future meetings without needing to register again.

Caregiver Connect

Burnout among rehabilitation professionals remains a critical and escalating concern, particularly in settings characterized by emotional intensity, productivity pressures, and systemic constraints. Afterglow is a program focused on occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, aides, and other licensed rehabilitation professionals who volunteered in at Empower SCI and subsequently returned to traditional clinical roles. The program is designed to allow volunteers to reconnect to their core values and purpose.
